Mark Rubin graduated from Queens College in New York and went on to complete his DMD degree from The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He completed a General Practice residency at New York’s Goldwater Memorial Hospital before relocating to South Windsor, CT. He opened his dental practice here in South Windsor in 1973 and has been treating patients in town for over 40 years.
Dr. Rubin has earned the respect of his patients and colleagues over the years for being a highly skilled dentist in addition to being a caring, compassionate person with the patients’ best interests in mind. Dr. Rubin has been consistently selected by his fellow dentists to be listed as a Top Dentist in Hartford Magazine.
Dr. Rubin is a member of the American Dental Association, CT State Dental Association and Hartford Dental Society. He enjoys participating in dental continuing education programs.
He was thankful to have his son, Todd, join the practice in 2004 and is excited at the opportunity to work with his daughter-in-law, Dr. Satoko Ono Rubin, as well. Mark plays tennis regularly year-round and enjoys travelling with his wife and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Todd Rubin graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine before completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at University of CT. He is an alumnus of Binghamton University and grew up in South Windsor before relocating to West Hartford where he graduated from Hall High School.
Todd is a strong believer in patient-first care with the highest ethical standards. With a history of painting and sculpting, his passion for performing dental procedures to the highest standards of care yield esthetic and predictable long-term results. This has led to his fellow dentists selecting him consistently to be in both Hartford Magazine’s and Connecticut Magazine’s Top Dentist Issues for multiple years running.
Todd is a member of the American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association, Hartford Dental Society and furthers his expertise with the Spear Education Group, a continuing education workshop with other specialists and dentists.
Todd feels fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with and learn from his father, and is thrilled and honored to have his wife join the practice, adding her years of specialty training to what can be offered to our patients. He enjoys traveling to new places with his wife, plays tennis, golf and likes to ski.
Satoko Ono Rubin graduated from Adelphi University in New York before earning her DMD degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She then completed a three-year program at Boston University where she earned her Prosthodontic specialty. Dr. Ono Rubin also completed a three year Periodontics program at the University of Connecticut which gave her the privilege and distinction of being the only dual specialist in the state of Connecticut holding these two titles. Dr. Ono Rubin practiced in Boston for a number of years but we now have the honor of having her here at Rubin Family Dentistry & Associates.
Her prosthodontics training focuses on complex full-mouth reconstruction cases including veneers, crown and bridge, dentures and implant restorations whether they be individual units, hybrid appliances or complete implant overdentures. Periodontics focuses on the surgical component of implant placement as well as periodontal surgeries such as gingival grafting, sinus grafts, osseous surgeries as well as preventative gum care programs. Dr. Ono Rubin brings these specialties to us allowing these procedures to be completed in the same convenient location and not having to refer our patients elsewhere.
Dr. Ono Rubin is an associate clinical professor at the UConn Health Center where she teaches surgeries to periodontal residents. She won the 2016 educator award from the American Academy of Periodontology for outstanding teaching and mentoring in periodontics. She earned an international award for her clinical research while at UConn entitled “Immediate vs. Delayed Loading of Two Implants Supporting a Locator Retained Mandibular Overdenture.” She is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, member of the American College of Prosthodontics, American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Association and Hartford Dental Society. Dr. Ono Rubin is a former President of the Connecticut Society of Periodontists. She does case presentations, lecturing both locally and internationally to fellow dentists.
She is an avid road biker, runner and usually shoots a better round of golf than Todd.
Dr. Satoko Ono Rubin also has a primary office location in West Hartford Center.
Nicole Skalina graduated from Brandeis University before earning her DMD degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Following dental school, she completed a General Practice Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan and was selected to stay on as Chief Resident.
After working in New York City for 7 years she moved to West Hartford with her husband to raise their family. Dr. Skalina believes in forming a partnership with patients in order to reach their oral health needs. She is committed to staying on top of the best treatment options available and therefore regularly participates in a variety of continuing education opportunities in her free time. Dr. Skalina is a licensed Invisalign® provider.
She is a member of the American Dental Association, Connecticut State Dental Society and Hartford County Dental Society.
She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, a good Netflix show, baking, exercising and traveling. She is always looking for good book recommendations.
After completing a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Thomas discovered his passion for dentistry and obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of New England College of Dental Medicine. While attending dental school, Dr. Thomas was the recipient of the Future Leader of Academic Dentistry Award, a distinction awarded to recognize leadership, commitment, and service to the field of dental education. Following the completion of dental school, Dr. Thomas completed a General Practice Residency program at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, CT where he gained further training in operative dentistry, oral surgery and treating medically compromised patients.
Dr. Thomas has found a devoted passion in dentistry and helping improve the oral healthcare needs of his patients. He hopes the quality care he provides will make a positive impact in the community he serves. Dr. Thomas firmly believes in developing life-long relationships with his patients with the highest standard of care, professionalism, and communication. He is passionate about patient education and providing his patients with the tools to maintain good oral health.
Dr. Thomas is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Education Association, and American Dental Association.

Steven Cosgrove, DMD began his academic journey at Arizona State University before earning his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in 2021. During dental school, he was honored with the Kappa Upsilon Phi Chi Chapter Research Award for his groundbreaking work on bacteria responsible for periodontal disease and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon in recognition of his academic and clinical excellence. Following dental school, Steven completed a General Practice Residency at Hartford Hospital, where he gained invaluable experience treating medically complex patients and those with advanced dental needs.
Steven has a deep passion for dentistry, finding fulfillment in the perfect balance of science and art that it offers. He takes pride in delivering comprehensive, personalized care by tailoring treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each individual. Driven by a commitment to excellence, he stays current with the latest advancements in dental techniques and technologies to ensure the best possible outcomes for his patients.
Originally from Texas, Steven and his family have fallen in love with Connecticut and made it their home. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the beauty of the state, spending quality moments with his two sons, and indulging in his love for music and movies.
Dr. Emma Dzialo earned both her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology and her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Connecticut. During dental school, she was honored with an award from the Connecticut State Dental Association for her work in dental radiology research. She also received the South Park Award in recognition of her dedication to community service and expanding access to dental care.
Following dental school, Dr. Dzialo completed a General Practice Residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University, where she gained advanced training in managing complex cases, treating medically compromised patients, and addressing dental emergencies.
Dr. Dzialo is passionate about providing high-quality, patient-centered care. She believes in building strong relationships through trust, empathy, and clear communication. She is committed to staying up to date with the latest advancements in dentistry to ensure her patients receive the most effective and comfortable care possible.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Dzialo enjoys spending her free time playing tennis, hiking, and exploring the outdoors.
